Elite Tumbleweed Training Camp

The summer months are an extremely important training time for College Park Tumbleweed competitive team.  This time is an opportunity for the gymnasts to train all day and work on new skills and progress to the next competition level.  The Tumbleweeds Developmental class program includes the Novice (Beginner), Bronze (Intermediate) and Silver (Advance) classes which are the feeder program for the Tumbleweed Competitive Team.  Once a gymnast progresses to the Silver (Advance) class by the spring session they will receive an invitation to participate in the summer Tumbleweed Team Training Camp.  Current Tumbleweed Team members and potential team members are required to participate in order to be considered for the upcoming Tumbleweeds competitive season.  The summer Tumbleweed Team Training Camp is by invitation only and attendance in the camp can affect the gymnast from not making the team and the level of competition for the upcoming competition season.  The summer Tumbleweeds Team Training Camp is during the month of June, Monday-Thursday, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

The staff and coaches here at College Park Tumbleweeds would like to thank the College Park Fire Department for showing our girls the basics of Fire Safety! During their two-hour training session, the girls learned how to remain safe if a fire were to begin within their vicinity. They learned “stop, drop and roll”, what smoke does to lungs when inhaled, why emergency exit drills are important, and more. The girls even split into teams and participated in a relay race that allowed them to practice their crawling skills!

We’re extremely thankful to have such proficient firefighters available at a moment’s notice to keep our girls safe!🚒
